Engineering & Technical Services Manager


Reporting to the GM or Director Technical Services, the position is based in Bangalore (India) and will be working to support technical assessments & activities to enhance Plant performance for better efficiencies and generation.

The individual will work with & support Operations & Maintenance, Procurement, Business development functions for current & future assets & projects across the country. The individual would also at times engage & work with teams in other countries in Southeast Asia.


  • Evaluate, develop and deploy performance improvement areas/projects in operating plants including re-engineering, budgeting and supplier identification;
  • Lead technical due diligence of new projects which includes Energy Yield Assessment, Gird impact studies, Product assessment from Serviceability, Life Cycle Management, Opportunities from Product Capacity Upgrade with safe limits, Supplier of Spares, Logistics and Lifting, Safety Practices;
  • Identify improvement prospects, including ongoing market developments, new technology solutions, Conducting desktop studies on resources availability, reliability, evacuation etc.;
  • Support development of special tools required for Operations & Maintenance large correctives, Jigs, Crane less solutions;
  • Supporting in obtaining certain local, state and/or central permits as may be required;
  • Support in assessing engineering designs & cost estimates for projects under development and/or for acquisition including resources assessment;
  • Ongoing assessment of EPCs to evaluate gaps for improvements, technology & data support etc.;
  • Review EPC contract documents in framing contract terms (Warranties, Defect liability, SCADA capabilities, Office and Other Infrastructure) and to ensure compliance;
  • Understanding PV and electrical design, PV simulation and other solar technology such PV hybrid, floating solar, tracking system and energy storage system; and
  • Gather market intelligence on competition, prospective technology improvements that can be used for current plants and pipeline projects


  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering and MBA is a plus


  • Preferably with experience in the renewable energy industry
  • Familiarity with solar & wind projects development, transmission, grid integration and power project engineering are advantageous
  • Background in any of the following would also be an advantage:
  1. Power Curve Studies, Load Flow modelling
  2. Wind turbine design software’s, SCADA
  3. Strong organizational, networking, leadership, time management skills
  4. Ability to write effective, concise reports
  5. Running COE in O&M, Asset life cycle management exposure
