Regulatory Compliance Manager

ABOUT THE POSITION

  • The role will closely work with our stakeholders and lead in managing and executing regulatory permitting activities for all operating plants and projects under development

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work under close guidance and supervision with GM O&M and GM BD, lead/assist in the management, coordination and execution of assigned regulatory activities for all operating plants and projects under development ensuring timely approval of permits and licenses and submission of compliance requirements.
  • Oversee and/or coordinate all compliance requirements including the preparation and submission of the required applications and reports, making sure that these comply with company policies and procedures, and regulatory requirements and maintaining good standing to regulatory agencies such as DOE, BOI, BOC, WESM, DAR, DENR, BSP etc.
  • Work closely with Project Managers, monitor project development progress and compliance with Vena Energy standards, policies and procedures ensuring internal and external compliance.
  • Communicate effectively and closely work with internal and external stakeholders e.g., ER 1-94 etc.
  • Work under close guidance and supervision with GM O&M and GM BD, develop and manage timelines of various reportorial requirements, permits and clearances for operating plants and projects under development.
  • Ensure, in coordination with the technical team, that all equipment of the EPC Contractors and its brokers and forwarders, are timely cleared from the BOC and delivered to the project sites without unreasonable delays.
  • Manage and monitor all compliance-related documents in close coordination with the Admin/Document Control team. Ensure the timely and efficient sorting, filing, storing, and retrieval of both electronic and hard copy documents produced by the BD and Operations teams relevant to regulatory compliance (regulatory filings, issued permits/clearances, submitted reports, formal communications, etc.). Regularly report on the document management status at monthly Obligations & Compliance meetings.
  • Identify opportunities and implement processes and system improvements for ease-of-doing-business and reduced time to information.
  • Serve as primary regulatory authority contact for assigned project(s), attending meetings, making presentations, and communicating regularly with authorities to maintain good relations.
  • Maintain current knowledge of regulations, policies, and standards pertinent to business interests in the Philippines.
  • Keep track of proposed industry rules, laws, standards, and other regulations that impact the operations of the company and its allied business units in the Philippines.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop team member to meet the organization's expectations for productivity, quality, continuous improvement, and goal accomplishment.
  • Support key functions from time to time.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION

  • Graduate of any four (4) year course

Experience

  • At least five (5) years’ experience in working or liaising with government agencies and offices is required
  • At least five (5) years’ experience in RE Project Development and local permitting is required

SKILLS

  • Knowledgeable and experienced in dealing with Government agencies specifically in DOE, BOI, WESM/ IEMOP & ERC is a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft office 365
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good organization skills
