Vena Energy Announces the Commercial Operation of the 14 MW Hitachiomiya 2 Solar Project

Vena Energy, Asia-Pacific’s leading renewable energy company, announced today the commercial operation of the 14-megawatt (MW) Hitachiomiya 2 Solar Project, in the Ibaraki Prefecture in Japan. Featuring 33,712 bifacial photovoltaic solar panels spread across 11.78 hectares, the Hitachiomiya 2 Solar Project was constructed with a peak local workforce of 130 workers, and the project is expected to provide up to 3,580 local households with clean renewable energy annually, while reducing up to 9,995 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions and saving approximately 14 million litres of water every year.

“The Hitachiomiya 2 Solar Project is our fourth renewable energy project in the Ibaraki Prefecture, and we are very proud that it has achieved its commercial operation status,” said Juan Mas Valor, Head of Vena Energy Japan. “Today, we are operating 25 solar and wind projects with a combined output of 479 MW across Japan, and we look forward to accelerating the energy transition, while continuing to engage and support our host communities through job creation and other initiatives in Japan”.
