Vena Energy Secures JPY 10.7B Green Loans from MUFG Bank for Two Solar Projects in the Aomori Prefecture

Vena Energy, Asia-Pacific’s leading renewable energy company, announced today that it has secured two green loans from MUFG Bank, Ltd for the 25 MW Shichinohe 9 Solar Project, and the 25 MW Aomori 2 Solar Project. The two project financings total JPY 10.7bn and are aligned with Vena Energy’s Green Financing Framework. The two Projects combined will be capable of supplying clean, renewable energy to approximately 10,897 Japanese households annually, while reducing up to 30,425 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions and saving an estimated 42 million litres of water yearly, when compared to thermal energy generation.

“Our mission is to contribute to the fight against climate change by increasing renewable energy generation to displace thermal plants and other non-renewable generation capacity, facilitating the transition to a low carbon economy and a climate risk resilient society. Green financings are instrumental to achieving these objectives, as they support our continuous efforts to power more and more homes and businesses with clean renewable energy,” said Juan Mas Valor, Head of Vena Energy Japan. “The support of MUFG Bank will allow us to deliver and operate the Aomori 2 and Shichinohe 9 projects and continue to sustain our host communities in the Aomori prefecture.”
