Vena Energy, one of Asia-Pacific’s leading independent power producers (IPP), announced today that it has won the “Independent Power Producer of the Year – Taiwan” award and the “Solar Power Project of the Year – Taiwan” award for the 70.2 MW Mingus Solar Project at the annual Asian Power Awards 2020. The Asian Power Awards represent the most prestigious accolades in the energy industry and recognizes the most ground-breaking projects and innovative initiatives in the power sector across the region.
“We are honoured to receive the Independent Power Producer of the Year award, and it is a testament to the dedication and effort of our employees and partners, as well as the support we’ve received from our host communities,” said XS Koo, Head of Vena Energy Taiwan. “Since we expanded into Taiwan in 2015, we have rapidly grown our renewable energy portfolio through projects such as the Mingus Project, which is the largest privately-owned, ground-mounted utility-scale solar project and the first solar corporate PPA (Power Purchase Agreement) in Taiwan. Our goal is to support Taiwan’s green transformation through the transition to renewable energy, while investing in the livelihood and sustainability of our host communities.”
