The issue of waste management in Jeneponto has become a significant concern, particularly as numerous public facilities are burdened with increasing waste accumulation. Several factors contribute to this waste problem, including population growth, increased economic activities, and the current effectiveness of waste management programs.
Our Vena Energy team in Indonesia collaborated with ambassadors from Jeneponto, home to our Tolo Wind Farm, to raise awareness about climate change and effective waste management for 107 students across two high schools, SMKN 1 Jeneponto and MTSS Ganrang Batu.
Through interactive presentations, sharing of personal experiences, and engaging discussions, the “Socialization of Climate Change and Waste Management” session educated students on the importance of as the three Rs – Reducing, Reusing, and Recycling. The initiative also highlighted ways students can get involved in school environmental programs and embrace eco-friendly habits in their daily lives.
