Praveen Jain is the Chief Risk Officer of Vena Energy, a leading renewable energy company in the Asia-Pacific region. Praveen leads the risk function and is a member of the Investment Committee. He works with the country teams and other functions across the region to identify and mitigate risks associated with projects from origination through development and operations.
A seasoned Asia-focused banking and finance professional with over 30-years of experience, Praveen has held leadership roles covering corporate banking, fixed income, debt capital markets, syndications, and treasury. He is a keen follower of fixed income markets and most recently was running his own investment office for four years.
He has worked in the Asian operations of Fleet National Bank (merged with Bank of America), Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Chinatrust Commercial Bank of Taiwan, ICICI, and Axis Bank, gaining exposure to different markets, varying management styles, and best business practices. He has led teams responsible for South and Southeast Asia and executing transactions across Asia and possesses extensive experience in business risk identification and risk mitigation.
Praveen is a mechanical engineer with an MBA. He has lived and worked in Delhi, Mumbai, Hong Kong, and Singapore.
