2012
Vena Energy’s asset base was first originated in 2012, with our first investments in 10 solar projects across Thailand totalling 92MW.
2013
Expanded into Japan and invested in four solar assets totalling 48MW. In the same year, we entered the India market with an investment into a 54MW wind project.
2014
Expanded into the Philippines and invested in a 30MW solar and 54MW wind project.
130MW TS Solar Project in Telangana, India
2015
First successful bid for a 130MW solar project in Telangana, India, while expanding into Taiwan and Indonesia.
132MW Pollo Solar Project in Cadiz, Philippines
2016
Commissioned the 132MW Project Pollo, Southeast Asia’s largest single solar project. Additionally, we signed the first 60MW wind power-purchase-agreement (PPA) in Indonesia, and expanded into Australia.
5MW Davis Solar Project in Yunlin, Taiwan
2017
Secured a tender to develop Taiwan’s largest solar project
Rebranded as Vena Energy after the acquisition by Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP)
2018
Acquired by Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP), CIC Capital Corporation (CIC Capital) and Public Sector Pension Investment Board (PSP Investments), and rebranded as Vena Energy. Expanded into the South Korean market. In the same year, commenced the construction of the 127MW Tailem Bend Solar Project in Southern Australia
2019
Obtained Investment Grade corporate rating. Fully commissioned five solar and wind projects in Indonesia totalling 114MW, five solar projects in Japan totalling 82MW, a 127MW solar project in South Australia, and two solar projects in Taiwan totalling 80MW.
