Category Procurement Manager, APAC

ABOUT THE POSITION

As the Category Procurement Manager within one of the designated categories—Wind Turbine Generator (WTG), Offshore Station (OSS), Subsea Cable (CAB), Turbines & Installation (T&I), or Foundation (FOU)—you will hold a vital role within Vena Energy Offshore Wind's regional procurement team. Your responsibilities encompass the oversight of procurement processes tailored to specific offshore wind project categories. This role encompasses contract management, cultivating robust supplier relationships, ensuring adherence to corporate regulations, and effective collaboration with cross-functional units. The overarching objective of the Category Procurement Manager is to enhance project efficiency and financial performance, harmonizing these goals with the company's broader objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Define, establish, review procurement procedures and maintain operational supply chain registers.
  • Handle contract forms, contract creation, and support negotiation, execution, monitoring and analysis to maximize operational and financial performance in relation to the objectives.
  • Interfaces with other business units such as Development Management, Construction Management and Operations & Maintenance & Asset Management.
  • Engage and maintain strong relations with the WTG/OSS/CAB/T&I/FOU related supply chain, identify, map out, strategize, and manage relationships.
  • Engage, coordinate, cooperate and seek agreement or approval with the relevant corporate functions to implement agreed corporate legal compliance, technical, commercial, and financial objectives for negotiation of project agreements.
  • Initiate meetings with the legal team,  engineering team, experts, vendors and suppliers.
  • Lead, coordinate and support project development, construction and asset management to execute specific project level contracts.
  • Maintain compliance with internal/external standards.
  • Monitor market dynamics and pricing.
  • Implement contracting opportunities for complex agreements.
  • Manage pre-qualifications and tenders.

EDUCATION

  • A university degree major in commercial, financial, technical or legal
  • Master's degree or professional certification in purchasing/supply chain management an advantage.

Experience

  • 8-15 years of relevant experience.
  • Previous involvement with offshore industrial contracts, such as TSA, EPCI, service and availability agreements, framework agreements, and familiarity with contract forms like FIDIC, LOGIC, Bare Boat, or BIMCO based forms.
  • Proficient understanding of the offshore wind industry and the associated supply chain landscape.
  •  Strong grasp of procurement strategies, negotiation techniques, and dispute resolution methods, coupled with a pragmatic and collaborative approach to problem-solving.
  • Proven experience in managing high-value industrial contracts.
