Senior Associate, Accounting

ABOUT THE POSITION

The function of Senior Associate Finance is responsible for contributing to various financial functions and initiatives. The position shall be mainly in charge of AP transactions according to the company’s rules and regulations and be supporting the conducting required financial analysis, assisting in budgeting and forecasting, and day-to-day banking transactions and internal operations. The job holder is required to work closely with HQ finance team and Korea head of Finance and all departments and to contribute to improving financial and accounting process while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the general ledger and all related accounts with proper documentation and records of 13 company transactions for selected entities. Ensure entries to the general and subsidiary ledgers to assure accuracy and compliance with the company’s and established accounting principles; controls all changes to chart of accounts.
  • Responsible for managing and reviewing outsourced accounting vendor and its staff’s output to ensure online and accurate delivery of required monthly financial reports and statements.
  • Administers preparation of interim, year-end and comparative financial reports; performs and provides analysis of current results to prior periods and/or budget.
  • Review monthly bank reconciliation for all accounts; verifies accuracy of bank statements and resolve questions or problems; maintains integrity of cash balances and cash flow systems.
  • Maintain project cost spent vs budget analysis for all projects in development and constructions for PIAR/IAR papers; quarterly management report; board reporting.
  • Maintains fixed assets records and control; determines depreciation terms/rates to apply to capitalized items; prepares property tax returns for review by controller.
  • Manages the coordination of year-end audit and review working papers and documents for independent auditors and c-1 pack for group audit purpose.
  • Liaises with outsourced accounting firm to prepare and review annual corporate tax audits and tax returns filings.
  • Maintains other accounts and performs other accounting duties as required or as requested by the CFO and Finance Head
  • Manages and monitors cash balances and cash requirement; coordinates with key stakeholders for funding.
  • Prepares funds flow memo and coordinate relevant foreign tax reporting.
  • Review data upload by finance executive to Anaplan for group consolidation and FP&A reporting.
  • Issue corporate cards of a new employee and review Concur expense claims against Company Policy and correspond and make necessary changes.
  • Check monthly payments are compliant against tax regulations and submit monthly payments for DOA’s approval.
  • Check monthly staff costs are reconciled with HR upload.
  • Check VAT filings and corporate tax filings are accurately filed, and relevant documentations are submitted.
  • Prepares required government reports as directed by the CFO/HQ and responds to inquiries as necessary

EDUCATION

  • BS degree in Accounting or Finance

Experience

  • 5+ years accounting or finance experience
  • Big 4 experience preferred

SKILLS

  • Good and transactional knowledge in K-IFRS
  • Strong excel skills
  • Accounting software package
  • Confidence in interacting with senior management, external vendors, and peers
  • Independent and critical thinker with strong analytical ability
  • Proficiency in English
