Daniel Astbury is the regional Wind Leader at Vena Energy responsible for the Asia-Pacific region. Prior to his current appointment, Daniel served as Country Head of Vena Energy Indonesia where he was responsible for the development of a large pipeline of wind and solar projects, 114 MW of which have commenced operation and established Vena Energy as the independent power producer (IPP) with the largest renewables portfolio in Indonesia.
With extensive experience across a variety of renewable power generation sectors, electricity markets, transmission and distribution, Daniel’s career in the renewable energy sector spans more than 12-years across Asia-Pacific, including Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines, South Korea, Indonesia, Japan and Australia.
Prior to joining Vena Energy, Daniel served as Principle Engineer and Regional Business Development Manager for the advisory business of DNV GL – Energy in the Asia-Pacific region.
Daniel received a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Swinburne University of Technology and has undertaken post graduate studies in Engineering (Sustainable Energy) at RMIT University, Aarhus School of Business and the MIT Portugal Program.
