- Vena Energy’s first asset base originated in 2012 with investments into 10 solar projects in Thailand totaling 92 MW.
- In 2013, we expanded into Japan by investing in four solar assets totaling 48 MW, and into India with a 54 MW wind project.
- In the following year, we invested in a 30 MW solar project and 54 MW wind project in the Philippines.
- In 2015, we received our first successful bid for a 130 MW solar project in India, while expanding into Taiwan and Indonesia.
- In 2016, we commissioned the 132 MW Project Pollo, Southeast Asia’s largest single solar project. Additionally, we signed the first 60 MW wind power-purchase-agreement (PPA) in Indonesia and expanded into Australia.
- In the following year, we secured a tender to develop Taiwan’s largest solar project at that time, the 70 MW Mingus Solar Project.
- Acquired by Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP), CIC Capital Corporation (CIC Capital) and Public Sector Pension Investment Board (PSP Investments).
- Rebranded as Vena Energy and established a corporate platform in Singapore.
- Commenced the construction of the 127 MW Tailem Bend Solar Project in South Australia.
- Expanded into the South Korean market.
- Obtained Investment Grade corporate rating.
- Fully commissioned five solar and wind projects in Indonesia totalling 114 MW.
- Commissioned five solar projects in Japan totalling 82 MW.
- Commissioned a 127 MW solar project in South Australia.
- Commissioned two solar projects in Taiwan totalling 80 MW, including Taiwan’s largest ground-mounted solar project.
- First Singapore-headquartered company to issue a corporate USD green bond.
- Commenced construction on a 47 MW wind project in Japan.
- Signed a PPA for our first battery storage project in Queensland, Australia.
- Secured our first hybrid wind and solar project in India and won a tender to build Taiwan’s largest solar project in Yunlin County.
- Added the largest solar project in the Miyagi Prefecture in Japan to our construction portfolio.
- Launched the VENUS program, the renewable energy industry’s first gender diversity-focused education sponsorship program for undergraduates with the Nanyang Technological University in Singapore.
- Signed a JPY 53 bn Sustainability-Linked Revolving Credit Facility and were rated top 1st percentile in the global utility industry by Sustainalytics.
- Surpassed 500 MW operating capacity in Japan and began commercial operation of our first wind project.
- 19 GW of offshore wind pipeline reached with project advances made in Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and Australia.
- Grant for green hydrogen project awarded by the Australian government.
- First green project bond raised in Japan with a global investment group.
- Taiwan’s largest solar project E2 awarded “Renewable Energy Deal of the Year” by Triple A Infrastructure Awards.
- VENUS program expanded to Japan in partnership with Tokyo University.
- Vena Energy Philippines named “Best Company to Work For in Asia 2022” by HR Asia for 2 consecutive years.
- Commissioned 5 solar & wind projects totaling 421 MW
- Contracted 1.2 GW of renewable energy across Southeast Asia, bringing Vena Energy’s OCC portfolio to 7.2 GW
- Awarded The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents Awards in Taiwan, Indonesia, and the Philippines for commitment to health & safety
- Awarded the APEX Green Leaf Award for Sustainability in India
- Recognised at the HR Tech Festival Award for Best Workplace Culture & Engagement
